54th Annual Jazz Festival

The 54th Annual EIU Jazz Festival will be held on February 8 & 9, 2013.  Guest artist Grace Kelly will be featured in sets with EIU Jazz Ensemble and her own quintet at 7:30 PM on Friday, February 8th in Dvorak Concert Hall in the Doudna Fine Arts Center. Visiting bands will perform, compete, and participate in clinics during the day on Saturday, February 9th. Named by DownBeat Magazine as one of the “Alto Saxophone Rising Stars,” Grace Kelly has performed with Phil Woods, Lee Konitz, Dave Brubeck, Hank Jones, and Wynton Marsalis.  Only 20 years old, she has led her own group in more than 500 concerts around the world at prominent venues including Carnegie Hall, the Newport and Montreal Jazz Festivals, and the Kennedy Center.
