About the Program
The purpose of the Master of Science in Natural Sciences program is to offer experiences designed to advance the professional and personal competencies and scholarship of middle school and high school science teachers. The degree is earned through the successful completion of course work offered through concentrations in the biological sciences and physical sciences. Courses are specifically designed for in-service teachers and are available only during the summer term which affords students an opportunity to complete the degree in three summers. A study plan consisting of appropriate course work from the participating departments is developed in consultation with the student's graduate advisor based on the student's background and interests and current or anticipated teaching assignments.
