Student Professional Organizations

You can participate in the Student Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Your goal may be to become a member of Kappa Omicron Nu, an honorary society which has won national awards. The Student Dietetic Association provides career-specific opportunities for dietetic students. Merchandising students enjoy spending time in the MADA RSO while hospitality management students have found many professional opportunities within CMAA and SEPA.

Professional Development Opportunities

The presentation of student research is supported and promoted. FCS students have presented their research and/or creative activities at various state conferences, such as the Illinois Association for Family and Consumer Sciences, and the Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as at national conferences, such as National Council for Undergraduate Research and the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.
