Eulalee L. Anderson
For decades, the Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) has taken pride in the services and resources that we offer to our international students. From shopping trips to scholarships, the OISS works to make the international students’ stay on campus as stress free as possible. This tradition of providing exceptional hospitality and services to our international students is rooted in the work of Eulalee L. Anderson.
Eulalee’s upbringing began in Brazil, where she learned the value and importance of “living to serve” from her parents. At the Univ. of Oklahoma, she excelled in her studies and was involved in various activities. Thus began her attainment of numerous honors and awards, many for service.
Marriage to Rudy Anderson brought her to Illinois, where she started a family and continued her dedication to groups related to volunteering and learning, often leading them. She had many opportunities to travel and loved meeting new people overseas and at home.
After raising her family, she returned to college life, this time at EIU, both as a student and as a friend, especially to the foreign students. This became her major passion.
Unfortunately, Eulalee passed away November 11, 2012. She was energetic, excited about her interests, caring, curious, loving, and “Mother” to foreign students whose families were far away. Eulalee’s life was meaningful, admirable, and exemplary.
In honor of the Eulalee's legacy at Eastern Illinois University the Office on International Students and Scholars is proud to present an opportunity for you to give in honor of Eulalee L. Anderson.
The Eulalee Anderson Fund for International Students is awarded to full-time undergraduate or graduate international student (s), accepted to EIU and are in good academic standing.
