INTRODUCTION

Dr. Kent Conrad received his undergraduate degree in Classical Studies at Franklin and Marshall College. Following a stint in the United States Air Force as a Chinese translator, he received his law degree from Dickinson School of Law. In 2003 he completed his Masters Degree in Accompanying at the University of Missouri-Columbia. In 2013 he received his doctorate in Vocal Accompanying and Coaching at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. While at Missouri, Dr. Conrad served as the accompanist for the Carnegie Hall premiere of "Corps of Discovery", a commissioned opera about the journey of Lewis and Clark. Dr. Conrad has also served as accompanist and assistant conductor for the Harrisburg Opera Association of Pennsylvania and has been musical director for productions for the departments of Theatre at both University of Missouri and University of Illinois.  For the online Oxford Bibliographies of Music, Dr. Conrad contributed the entry for "Musical Theatre" in the fall of 2012.  Most recently Dr. Conrad presented masterclasses in American Musical Theatre at universities in Shanghai and Hohot, Mongolia.
