Ahmed Salim Nuhu

Salim is currently the GA for the Student Affairs Assessment Project. In this position, he is responsible for promoting a culture of assessment within the Division of Student Affairs at Eastern Illinois University and also overseeing the administration of assessment projects within the division.
His current interests revolve around the application of econometric methods in generating insight into big data, in the areas of health, poverty and inequality especially in developing areas. He is proficient in the use of STATA, SPSS and Excel. Before joining the HERC, Salim worked as a teaching assistant at the economics department at EIU, and as a treasury operations analyst at The Royal Bank in Ghana. Salim devotes his spare time to building the leadership capacities of young people and has mentored over one hundred students at the Junior Young Leaders Conference in Washington DC and the Recycle Up Summer Camps in Ghana. He received his bachelors degree in economics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana, where he was a student leader and is currently working towards a graduate degree in economics.
