The Leading Edge
The Leading Edge is a leadership supervisory development certificate program designed especially for you, the employee who is an EIU supervisor, would like to be a supervisor, or would like to further your professional development as an employee.
The Leading Edge is a one-year program of 12 modules, most of which take only one morning a month to complete and are presented by professionals from both on and off campus. The Leading Edge includes a mixture of classroom instruction and assignments designed to be completed between modules.
The Leading Edge is designed to:
- Provide the knowledge to complement and develop existing skills.
- Provide many of the tools you need to become successful at EIU
- Provide the foundation for a common language and a set of leadership competencies among supervisors and managers at EIU
The Leading Edge certificate requires completion of 12 modules. There are nine required modules and at least three elective modules that must be completed to receive the certificate. Each participant is encouraged to complete this program in the first year.
Certificates of completion will be awarded for each module completed as well as for The Leading Edge certificate completion. Modules that are missed may be made up during the next cycle.
