Our alumni can be found leading successful careers at universities across the nation as housing directors, admission directors, university vice presidents, and the president of Eastern Illinois University (EIU). These individuals came to Eastern Illinois University seeking a degree. They left with life-long friendships, the knowledge and skill set that has assisted them in reaching their career objectives, and the ability to say now and forever

You can find our staff members actively participating in housing and student affairs related professional organizations; advising student organizations like RHA, NRHH, IFC, NPHC, PHC and other student organizations while enjoying the benefits of their efforts.
Student Housing, Residence Life, Greek Court, Dining Services and Camps & Conferences, normally considered separate departments at many institutions, fall underneath the umbrella of University Housing & Dining Services at Eastern Illinois University. The department has the unique distinction of being the university's sole provider of student housing, dining and conference services.
While we are financially responsible for the operation of these areas, the primary role of University Housing & Dining Services involves the people who live and dine in our buildings.
Staff members are charged with the role of providing and fostering an on-campus community designed to better allow residents to attain success in their academic goals. This is achieved through listening to student and staff input; by providing residence life programming; furnishing residents with a number of convenient services and through the teamwork afforded us by combining the afore mentioned areas.
