President Doudna Memorial Scholarship, Margaret Schmidt Memorial Scholarship, and John L. Whisnand Scholarship

 

The following scholarships are open to all qualified students currently enrolled at Eastern Illinois University.

Applications were accepted until the last Friday in September (Fri Sept. 27th this year). The applications for these scholarships are closed for the 2013-14 year, and will be re-opened in August 2014 for the 2014-15 year. Complete the online application at the bottom of this page, and ensure that two letters of recommendation are sent to the address indicated. 

 Each of these awards may only be received once.

President Doudna Memorial Scholarship

Preference shall be given to students graduating from Illinois high schools. Recipients must have maintained at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA (on a 4 point scale) for all high school course work.

Applicants must be a freshman (< 30 credit hours earned) at the time of the award.

 

Margaret Schmidt Memorial Scholarship

The recipient must be a full time student, accepted to Eastern Illinois University, who shows uncommon academic achievement.

Applicants may be freshmen, sophomores, juniors, or seniors.

 

John L. Whisnand Scholarship

The recipient must be in good standing at EIU and have a minimum of one year of undergraduate study remaining. The recipient must demonstrate outstanding character through actions and conduct reflecting credit upon EIU. Financial need is a consideration.

Applicants may be freshmen, sophomores, or juniors.
