Class of 1961 50th Reunion Celebration

As part of this year's Homecoming proceedings, we would like to invite EIU's Class of 1961 for a golden anniversary celebration and recognition dinner. In addition, we encourage members of the Class of 1961 to participate in the rest of the Homecoming activities scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22.

Wake-up Breakfast - 8:30 a.m. - Blair Hall Lawn

Get a jump start on the day's festivities with a complimentary breakfast buffet, courtesy of the EIU Alumni Association. Enjoy mingling with fellow classmates and other EIU alumni while watching the Homecoming parade assemble. Please RSVP on the registration form.

Homecoming Parade - 9:30 a.m. - 7th Street and 6th Street

Football TailGREAT and Alumni Tent City - 11:30 a.m. - O'Brien Stadium Tailgate Area

All colleges will be represented south of O'Brien Stadium. Faculty and staff from many departments will be present and available to visit with you. Past attractions have included the College of Arts and Humanities' famous corn bread and beans cooked over an open fire, live music, freebies and more!

Homecoming Football Game - 1:30 p.m. - O'Brien Stadium

EIU hosts UT Martin for the Homecoming football game. Tickets are $13. Indicate the number of tickets you would like to purchase on the registration form. Tickets will be mailed to you prior to the reunion.

50th Reunion Reception - 5:30 p.m. - University Ballroom, MLK Jr. Union

This is an opportunity for you and your fellow classmates to reminisce and catch up on the last 50 years. Hors d'oeuvres will be served, and a host beer/wine bar will be available. During the reception, the class photograph and the Livingston C. Lord Society pinning ceremony will take place. Please RSVP on the registration form.

Class of 1961 Class Photograph - 6 p.m. - University Ballroom

A class photo will be taken to commemorate this celebratory occasion. A complimentary photo will be mailed to your home, courtesy of the EIU Alumni Association.

Livingston C. Lord Society Pinning Ceremony - 6:15 p.m. - University Ballroom

The Livingston C. Lord Society was established to honor members of the 50-year reunion class who return to campus for their 50th class reunion. In recognition of this honor, members of the class of 1961 will be individually called forward to receive their Lord Society pin.

Livingston C. Lord Society Recognition Dinner - 6:30 p.m. - University Ballroom

The Livingston C. Lord Society Recognition Dinner will commence directly following the pinning ceremony. The dinner will feature a formal meal, entertainment and guest speakers. Tickets are $25 per person. Please RSVP on the registration form.
