University Apartments Gas Outage:

DATE AND TIME:       Wednesday, April 15, 2015  7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. (11 hours)

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE: Repair gas leak             

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:    There will be no gas for cooking, wall heaters will not work, and there will be no hot water.

Cell Tower Work:

REQUESTED BY:         Lionel Sanders, Facilities Planning & Management                      

BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED:    Buzzard Educational Building – cell tower work on East side of building.

DATE & TIME: Starting Wednesday, April 15, 2015  7:00 a.m. – Thursday, April 23, 2015 (9 days)                                                                                                                   

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:   Contractor work to do modifications/upgrades to cell towers

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:    A truck and trailer will be parked in the parking lot adjacent the cell tower East fence.  The East ADA entrance to Buzzard during normal hours will be limited to ADA patrons only.  All other pedestrians should use other entrances.  Signage and barricades will be in place.  There will be some slight construction noise.

McAfee parking lot drain repair:  Extended through Thursday, April 16th

DATE & TIME:  Monday, April 13, 2015 – Thursday, April 16, 2015 (4 days)                                

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:   Repairing parking lot drain 

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:    The Southwest parking lot entrance will be partially blocked while repairing drain located in parking lot.

Life Science Tuck pointing Work:

REQUESTED BY:          Tony Craven, Brickmason Foreman  

BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED:     Area between Life Science Building and Life Science Annex will be OPEN during tuck pointing work   

DATE AND TIME:         Monday, March 9, 2015.  Work to continue through approximately Thursday, April 30, 2015.  

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:    Tuck pointing   

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:    The North entrance to Life Science building and the South entrance to Life Science Annex will be opened.  Pedestrians will be able to walk through this area.  There will be dust and debris.  In the event of an emergency, these entrances could be used to exit the building.

Old Main South Side Masonry Work:

BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED:    Old Main, South side                                                                                                         

DATE AND TIME:     Monday, March 30, 2015 – approximately end of summer, 2015 

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:    Masonry restoration 

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:    Masonry cleaning will take place on the South side of Old Main.  There will be at times, some construction noise.  As work progresses, updates will be sent out.

Student Services Bldg. ENTRANCE CLOSURE:

REQUESTED BY: Eric Wahls, Facilities Planning & Management

BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED: Student Services Building, South East / Financial Aid Entrance

DATE & TIME: Starting Tuesday, March 17, 2015 around noon and continuing through the duration of the construction work.

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE: Construction work for installation of new elevator.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: The South East entrance and stairwell will be closed for construction. The Office of Financial Aid will be accessible from the set of double doors farther to the East end of the building facing the parking lot on the South.

Restroom Work in Student Services:

REQUESTED BY:         Eric Wahls, Facilities Planning & Management 

BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED:    Student Services  

Starting Tuesday, February 24, 2015, the downstairs women’s restroom ill be temporarily be turned into a men’s restroom.  

Starting Wednesday, February 25, 2015, the men’s restroom will be shut down due to renovation work.                                                                                        

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:    Minor renovations to restore functional urinals in men’s restroom.  This work should take approximately 3 weeks to complete. 

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:    The downstairs women’s restroom will temporarily be turned into a men’s restroom during renovation work.  There will be a women’s restroom available for use on the 3rd floor.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Staff parking spaces will be reduced. Sidewalk adjacent to lot will be inaccessible.
