Old Main Masonry Work – Center Main Tower: 

 

REQUESTED BY:  Tony Craven, Brickmason Foreman 

 

BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED:  Old Main, Front Main North entrance 

 

DATES:  Starting Thursday, July 30, 2015 – approximately October, 30, 2015 (weather allowing) 

 

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:  Masonry work on the Center Tower 

 

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:  A construction fence will be erected around work area perimeter in the front of Old Main.  There will be some construction noise associated with this work.  The North, main entrance will be closed during this work.  In the case of an emergency, the doors could be used as an emergency exit.

Electrical Outage for Greek Court 5, 6 & 8:

DATES:  Tuesday, July 28, 2015  9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.  (5 hours) 

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:  Electrical issues – Ameren is changing out the primary transfer 

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:  No electricity, no internet, no A/C

Rec Center Floor Finishing:

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:  Sanding and applying floor finish to Rec Center floors & Dance Studio  

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:  Rec Center & Dance Studio will not be available for use during this work.

Coleman Hall Restroom work: 

REQUESTED BY:          Eric Wahls, Facilities Planning & Management 

BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED:     Coleman Hall men’s and women’s Southwest restrooms on 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors 

DATE AND TIME:        Thursday, July 23, 2015  - tentatively December, 2015 

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:   Repiping project 

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:    Men’s and women’s Northeast restrooms on all floors (1st, 2nd & 3rd) will be open during this work in the Southwest restrooms.  There will be some construction noise associated with this work, but it will be kept to a minimum.  If at times there would be any extra loud construction noise, we will try to schedule with advanced notice and do early in the morning before classes.

Fire Sprinkler System for buildings listed below:

BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED:  Andrews Hall, Lawson Hall, Thomas Hall, Taylor Hall and Thomas Hall Dining and Taylor Hall Dining 

DATES:  Monday, July 20, 2015  9:00 a.m. –  Tuesday, July 28, 2015 3:00 p.m. (Revised) 

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:  During this period the fire sprinkler system will not work. 

What this means is:  The fire sprinkler system in the buildings listed will not work.  The fire alarm system, notification to 911, etc… will all be functioning.  In case of a fire, the only thing that would not work is the fire sprinkler system.

 

McAfee Elevator Work:  

REQUESTED BY:  Eric Wahls, Facilities Planning & Management  

BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED:  McAfee parking lot, South side of McAfee and sidewalk on the South side of McAfee  

DATE AND TIME:  Beginning Tuesday, May 26, 2015 through duration of McAfee elevator work (approximately until October, 2015)  

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:  Construction, staging area & path for installation of new elevator 

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:  Seven (7) parking spaces, including 2 ADA spots in the Southeast corner of McAfee parking lot will be taken as part of the construction/staging area.  Three (3) parking spaces immediately to the West will be taken to make two (2) temporary ADA parking spaces.

DATE AND TIME:        Monday, April 27, 2015 – through duration of renovation 

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:   Remodel of restroom 

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:    This restroom will be closed during renovation work.

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE:    Masonry restoration 

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:    Masonry cleaning will take place on the South side of Old Main.  There will be at times, some construction noise.  As work progresses, updates will be sent out.

Student Services Bldg. ENTRANCE CLOSURE:

REQUESTED BY: Eric Wahls, Facilities Planning & Management

BUILDINGS OR AREAS INVOLVED: Student Services Building, South East / Financial Aid Entrance

DATE & TIME: Starting Tuesday, March 17, 2015 around noon and continuing through the duration of the construction work.

PURPOSE OF PROPOSED OUTAGE: Construction work for installation of new elevator.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS / SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: The South East entrance and stairwell will be closed for construction. The Office of Financial Aid will be accessible from the set of double doors farther to the East end of the building facing the parking lot on the South.
