    Linda Simpson's Vita

    Linda Simpson, Ph.D., CFCS, CPFFE serves as the Interim Chair for the School of Family and Consumer Sciences. Her subject matter expertise is in the areas of consumer studies and financial literacy. Dr. Simpson was instrumental in advancing the university in technology enhanced and delivered education as she was one of the first EIU professors to offer an online delivered course. Over the years, she has served in various roles to advance the quality of online teaching and learning; one being a committee member to create the Center for Academic Technology Services. She continues to serve on the Online Programs Board. Recently, she received a $40,000 grant from TIAA Cref and the Council on Graduate Studies to enhance student financial literacy. The funding from this grant was used for the development of the Literacy in Financial Education Center (LIFE Center) where she serves as the Executive Director. Dr. Simpson is in her 17th year at EIU.
