Gary Jensen

Music Education

Gary Jensen is assistant professor of Music Education at Eastern Illinois University where he specializes in elementary and secondary general and vocal music education. He is also the conductor for the Eastern Illinois University Women's Choir. His past teaching experiences include Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI, Western Michigan University, Millikin University (IL), and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he is presently completing his doctorate. His dissertation topic addresses the study and performance of multicultural choral music. Mr. Jensen has sung professionally with the Washington Opera and Wolf Trap Opera Companies in Washington, DC for nine years, and is presently Director of Music/Organist at Resurrection Lutheran Church, in Chicago. He holds music degrees from Millikin University and Northwestern University.
