About Dr. Minnis
Dr. Bill Minnis is an Associate Professor of Management at Eastern Illinois University.
Dr. Minnis is currently on a fractional leave from the university and is serving as President/CEO of Citizens National Bank. He continues to teach one course each semester in the M.B.A. program at EIU. The decision to move into the financial industry followed a three year term as Board member at the bank and the opportunity to enhance professional management and financial services skills.
Dr. Minnis served twelve years as the director of the Terre Haute SBDC, the Small Business Institute, and the coordinator for the YEP (Youth Entrepreneurship program) at Indiana State University. He hosted the Small Business Insights radio program on WISU for five years and is certified as a Small Business Consultant. He taught entrepreneurship courses at Indiana State University and Eastern Illinois University at the graduate and undergraduate levels. He has been a member of numerous academic entrepreneurship and small business organizations. He was selected as an Outstanding Junior Faculty Member in Entrepreneurship by the Coleman Foundation in 2002.
Dr. Minnis started and operated the Terre Haute Journal of Business for seven years, Minnis and Associates (organizational and research consulting firm) for twelve years and owns and operates Minnis Family Cattle (a fifth generation registered Angus cattle operation).
