Lucinda Berry did her undergraduate work at Indiana State University and Warnborough College, Oxford, England, where she studied Yeats and Renaissance drama. She has a master's degree in linguistics from Indiana University. Her short plays "Sign & Tangent," "Three Wise Guys," "Holiday Greetings," "Tabled," "Democracy Inaction," “Keeping Time,” “Dow Wow Wow” and a monologue, "Duality," have been produced at the Bloomington Playwrights Project, and “Democracy Inaction” was taken to the Indianapolis Fringe Festival. "Commodity Exchange," “Place Value” and “Everyday Matters” premiered at the Halcyon Gallery. “Literary Circle” and “Customarily” were written as site-specific plays for performance at the Vigo County Public Library.

“Dog Eat Dog” based on themes in Jack Londonn's The Call of the Wild,  “My Jim” based on characters in My Antonia by Willa Cather, "The Masque at His Grave" based on the death of Edgar Allan Poe, and "Burning Issues" based on themes in Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 were commissioned in conjunction with the Vigo County Big Read, a project of the National Endowment for the Arts. Another commissioned work related to The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain will be produced in March 2013.
