Angela Vietto studies and teaches colonial and Revolutionary American literature, with interests in gender studies and publishing history. She is co-editor of an edition of The Coquette and The Boarding School, by Hannah Webster Foster (co-edited with Jennifer Desiderio and available from Broadview Press).  She is also author of Women and Authorship in Revolutionary America (2006, Broadview), and associate editor of Early American Writings (2003, Oxford). Current research interests include a study of gender and prose style in the 1790s and the role of time and clocks in the novels of William Hill Brown and the letters of his brother, painter Mather Brown.
