Engineering Program Partnership
For over 20 years Eastern Illinois University has been sending highly qualified students to the world renowned Engineering program at the University of Illinois. The Engineering program at UIUC is ranked among the top 5 Engineering programs in the USA by US News and World Reports and in 2013 did over 213 million dollars in research.
For this program, students spend 2 years at Eastern Illinois University and 2 years at the University of Illinois, resulting in a Bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois in one of the following fields:
Aeronautical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Environmental Engineering, General Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Nuclear Engineering and Theoretical and Applied Mechanics.
Students save at least $15000 to $20000 per year by spending the first two years of the program at EIU in contrast to UIUC. Significant scholarships are available for international students at EIU. See EIU cost page here and UIUC cost page here.
Small Classes/Prestigious Faculty
Introductory classes at EIU consist of around 25 students. Classes during first two years at EIU are taught by excellent faculty with PHDs from some of the best universities in the USA.
Academic entrance requirements to EIU and UIUC for international students
EIU: 2.0 GPA, 61 Internet-based TOEFL or 6.0 IELTS or meet other language requirement. Please note, students with a 2.5 GPA or higher are preferred for this program.
UIUC: Additional requirements required for 2nd two years at the University of Illinois including a 3.0 GPA at EIU and 100 Internet-based TOEFL or 7.5 IELTS.
