Registration Processes
On Campus Classes - Students must register/waitlist for their respective courses using the PAWS system at www.eiu.edu/paws. If a class is full, a student may waitlist the class. The department will control the waitlist. The waitlist is broken down in the following manner: Students with the least remaining courses left to complete the program (first priority). A tie is broken by the date and time of the student's waitlist request. Students will be notified of their drop-in status via EIU E-mail.
Off Campus Classes (Cohorts)
MEMBERS OF COHORTS - Students who are assigned to a respective cohort must complete the
Off Campus Cohort Course Registration Form in order to be registered for their cohort classes, course registration is not automatic. Once the form has been completed, the department will process the registration form and forward the request to the School of Continuing Education for computer input. The process may take up to two weeks for completion. No confirmation will be sent to the student. It is the student's responsibility to check the PAWS system for course registration. Approximately one week before classes begin, student's will receive an email with course information (i.e., cost, location, etc) in their EIU E-mail account.
NON-MEMBERS OF COHORTS -Students who do not belong to a respective cohort but wish to enroll in an off campus cohort class, must complete the Off Campus Cohort Course Waitlisting Form. Once the form has been completed, the department will add the student to the waitlist for specified course(s). After all cohort members have registered the remaining seats will be available to students on the waitlist. The waitlist is broken down in the following manner: Students with the least remaining courses left to complete the program (first priority). A tie is broken by the date and time of the student's waitlist request. Students will be notified of their drop-in status via EIU E-mail.
