"My name is Denise Fearday and I opted to write a thesis while completing the Graduate Program in Dietetics at EIU. This research opportunity gave me the freedom to design my own study, find and test participants, then analyze and discuss the results. EIU’s program let me research a topic that I was passionate about while giving me help throughout the process. My research committee was great in giving me ideas when I was having a rough time and recommended changes to make my research even more analytically sound. When others ask me about my choice to do research at EIU, I tell them that I would do it again and highly recommend it to others deciding whether or not to choose a thesis or other research option in their studies."

"I recently graduated from EIU’s Graduate Program in Dietetics. My experience as a graduate student at EIU was excellent. I was given many opportunities to work with others, including students, professionals, and community members during my time there. These opportunities allowed me to discover possible career paths as well as make connections that I could use later in my professional studies. The skills I gained as a result of my classes helped to prepare me for my Dietetic Internship and gave me skills to showcase for future career opportunities. Overall, my graduate experience at EIU provided me with the essential skills I would need to be successful in the future."
