St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital

Since 1875, the healthcare needs of the sick and poor have been met by the sisters, medical staff, employees, and volunteers of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital. The hospital serves the south-central portion of Illinois, primarily the 32,000 residents of Effingham County, whose economy is driven by the transportation, service, and manufacturing industries as well as agriculture.

St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital is a fully accredited not-for-profit acute care health facility. The hospital has 146 licensed beds and a work force of 675 employees. At. Anthony's approach to healthcare combines the compassion and human touch of more than a century of caring with the most modern technologies available today. Service lines include: Inpatient, Outpatient, and HomeCare. The hospital offers medical, surgical, obstetrical, pediatric, and critical care services. A skilled nursing unit offers patients a transition between hospital and home.

Mission

The mission of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital is to participate in the healthcare ministry of the Church. We commit our valuable resources to provide a family-centered approach in meeting the healthcare needs of all people in the community and surrounding area regardless of ability to pay, and to foster the values of care, joy, respect, and competence.

Effingham

Located at the intersection of Interstate 57 and Interstate 70, Effingham, Illinois has become a hub for America's motoring public. Food Service Management


Staff

Staff members for Food and Nutrition Services includes three Registered Dietitians, one of which is a Certified Diabetes Educator.

Food and Nutrition staff of St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital are also involved in community service events including health fairs, speaking engagements, diabetes screening, diabetes day camp, and cooking classes.

 

Clinical Rotations

A well rounded experience in many aspects of clinical nutrition are offered at St. Anthony's including inpatient care such as critical care, oncology, medical/surgical, maternity and pediatrics. Outpatient counseling includes diabetes, gestational diabetes, weight loss/weight gain, gasterointestinal disorders, renal disease, and healthy eating.
