A Thriving Event Planner

     One of Jordan Jansin's favorite things to do in her spare time is taking long romantic walks on the beach. She enjoys riding majestic horses into the sunset. But on a more serious note, Jordan is a junior at Eastern Illinois University. She studies communication studies and minors in public relations. One of her biggest dreams is to become an event planner for nightlife events in a big city such as Los Angeles, New York, or Chicago.

     Although Jordan is chasing her dreams to become a successful event planner, she is still expanding her experience in the communications field. She realized early on that she wanted to join the communications major. Originally, she wanted to become an interior designer and work in family consumer sciences. After consulting with Eastern Illinois’ Career Services, however, she realized that event planning and public relations were the right fit for her. Jordan has taken communication and public relation classes, and will be taking up an internship soon.

     Jordan has great communication and organization skills, and is very responsible. She believes that she gets jobs done faster and more successfully when she is under pressure. Event planning comes with a lot of pressure and is a great profession for the energetic junior.

     Beyond her dream to become an event planner, Jordan has even bigger dreams. In ten years she see’s herself happily married, with no children. She would like to make the same or even more money than her husband and travel the world.

     Jordan Jasin is on her way to be a successful event planner. Within the next two years she will complete her degree. Keep your eyes out for this thriving event planner.
