No Obstacle Too Large
After graduating from Bolingbrook High School, Hannah decided that South Carolina State was the perfect university to play soccer. That is right; Eastern was not Hannah’s first choice. After she tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), however, Hannah chose Eastern because of its small size and academic reputation. Although the injury changed her athletic plans, Hannah is happy she came to Eastern.
After losing her father in middle school, Hannah knew exactly what she needed to do. No, not become an events coordinator. She learned that she needed to appreciate and make use of the time that she had. “Life is a lot shorter than we think it is, and we need to cherish the time that we do have,” she says. The prestigious reputation that her father built for her family motivates and inspires her to work hard to succeed in school and life.
Over the past three years, Hannah has become an active member in many organizations on campus. She currently serves as the vice president of programs for Delta Zeta, plays on the intramural soccer team for her sorority, and is an active member of the Public Relations Student Society of America.
The Department of Communication Studies has taught Hannah many lessons for the future. The faculty and her on-campus involvements have helped her find the right career and set professional goals for the future. After graduation, Hannah plans to either work as an events coordinator or a public relations executive for a sports team.
As an excellent student, Hannah is on her way to become a successful Eastern alumna. She will carry the name and reputation of both Eastern and her family with ease and stride. Look out for Hannah Jahn!
