Ready For It All

The wonderful windy city known as Chicago is where 21 year old Andre Haynes grew up. Andre is family oriented and dedicated to everyone he loves.

He came to Charleston inspired by his cousin, an EIU aluma.

Starting his freshman year he was ready to make new friends, succeed in his classes and even earn a little money. Andre has always been a hard worker, and for the past three years, he has worked in the MLK University Union on campus.

Andre came to Eastern with an open mind. He is very dedicated to achieving his goals and motivated to graduate with good grades. Andre declared his major in Communication Studies with an option in Public Relations. To gain further experience he plans to obtain a public relations or sales internship soon.

While his academics are a first priority, Andre also has a great passion for sports. He has played sports all of his life competitively and is a committed team player. Today, he still enjoys playing basketball and other sports for leisure. He especially enjoys working out and setting physical goals for himself.

As a junior, Andre is still determining his long-term goals. With the love he has for music and different cultures, comedy and traveling, he plans to travel to Barbados and study abroad in the near future. Haynes is excited about the future and is ready for whatever life throws his way.
