Communication Studies majors named as Silver Dome Finalists

Eight EIU Communication Studies majors have been named as finalists in the 2010 Illinois Broadcasters Association Student Silver Dome Awards.  The contest awards the top work done by student broadcasters at colleges and universities from throughout the state of Illinois. 

Finalists from EIU include:

Best Radio Aircheck:

  • Tom Bickham
  • Ethan Kruger
  • Nathan Schwalm

Best Radio Station Promotion:

  • Phil Norton & Kate Kelley

Best TV Photo Journalism:

  • Emily Mieure & Avery Drake

Best TV Weathercast:

  • Kevin Jeanes

Communication Studies majors were also part of two WEIU-TV programs that have been named finalists:

Best TV Newscast:

  • WEIU-TV News Watch

Best TV Longform Programming:

  • WEIU-TV Sports Watch End Zone

Awards will be announced and presented on October 8th at the IBA-U Student Broadcasters Conference in Normal.
