Graduate student awarded travel grant

A graduate student in Communication Studies has been awarded a travel grant by the Eastern Illinois University Graduate School

Daniel Douglas (Mattoon) was awarded a Williams Travel Grant to support his research project entitled "Horton Heard a Who, Can You? Voices from GTAs on Teaching Practices in the Basic Course."  Douglas presented his research at the National Communication Association's annual conference in November in New Orleans.  The grant will help defray Douglas' costs of traveling to the conference.

Douglas was selected as a grant recipient by the Awards Committee of the E.I.U. Council on Graduate Studies.  He will be recognized on April 12th at the Distinguished Graduate Student Awards Ceremony.  He will also be featured in the 2012 Graduate Journal of Scholarship.
