DuPont communication specialist to speak at Eastern

A communication specialist from DuPont Chemical Company will speak to Eastern Illinois University Communication Studies students on Friday, October 12th.

Chris Caldwell, Government Affairs Manager for DuPont’s Southeast Region, will speak at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, October 12th in Coleman Hall 1255.  He will discuss, "Where a Communication Degree Can Take You: an E.I.U. Grad's Perspective."  The presentation is open to the public free of charge.

Caldwell is responsible for DuPont's public policy, advocacy and business development activities in six states: Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Georgia.  He previously worked in government affairs and media relations for International Paper Company and Westinghouse.

Caldwell is a 1987 graduate of Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication and a minor in Professional Writing.  He is a member of the Board of Directors for the E.I.U. Alumni Association.  Caldwell is a native of Jacksonville, Illinois and now lives in Chesterfield, Virginia.
