EIU offers new club for communication students

Alt TV Logo

Eastern Illinois University students have formed a new club for communication majors this year. Alternative television club is a new Registered Student Organization (RSO) this year. Alt TV began as an idea back in April 2012 as a way for students to create their own media.

This RSO serves as an intramural for media study students, but all majors are welcome to join. Alt TV is a way for students who are interested in any aspect of production to get involved and produce something they are passionate about. This RSO allows students to collaborate with other students, as opposed to having to do everything on their own. The club prides itself on creating unique media that is different than what is seen on TV. The club started with only three members and currently has over 30. Everyone is welcome to join.

The club meets on the first Wednesday of every month, and there is a screening mid-month.

For more information you can contact the faculty advisor Scott Walus at smwalus@eiu.edu. You can also contact the club president Mike Bennett-Gray at mtbennettgray@eiu.edu or the vice president John Pinto at jvpinto@eiu.edu.
