Wilson-Brown's courses are influenced by her interdisciplinary background in film and media theory, visual communication and video production, cultural studies, gender studies, and Latino/a Studies. Her interests include the study of youth media, subcultures, and consumptive practices. She is a member of the EIU Film Studies Advisory Board and the coordinator of the department's student multimedia contest.
