EIU Master of Science in Communication Disorders and Science

Graduate Student Research and Presentations

All graduate students enroll in a research methods course (CDS 5000) followed by a clinical research experience course (CDS 5001). During these courses, students develop and implement a clinically-based reserach project and present results from their project at a departmental research poster symposium. Some students also present results from the clinical research project at the conference of the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ISHA). Typically 3-5 graduate students per year complete a master's thesis.  Students often present thesis results at various professional conferences including the state speech conference (ISHA) and the national conference of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
