Description

The recipient must be a sophomore full-time student at Eastern Illinois University, majoring in Communication Disorders and Sciences, and agreeing to attend Eastern Illinois University during his/her junior year. The recipient must have an overall GPA of not less than 3.0 and not higher than 3.5 on a 4.0 point scale during the three semesters at Eastern Illinois University preceding his/her selection. The recipient must demonstrate a need for financial aid.

The recipient(s) must demonstrate a need for financial assistance to continue their education. This scholarship is subject to available funds.

Description

The recipient(s) must have applied and been accepted to Eastern Illinois University and to the Graduate School, and have applied and been accepted to the Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences (CDS) as a degree-seeking candidate pursuing a Master’s Degree. The recipient must have demonstrated potential for undertaking independent research. The recipient(s) must have documented acceptance of a research presentation at the state or national level. The recipient(s) must be in good academic standing at the time of the award. Recipient(s) may not receive the award more than once.

Description

The recipient of this award shall be a full-time graduate student seeking a Master’s Degree in the Department of Communication Disorders and Sciences. Students are nominated for this award by faculty, and should exhibit the following characteristics: exemplary clinical skills as evidenced by performance in clinical practicum assignments, active involvement in NSSLHA activities, participation in service and/or volunteer work outside the CDS department, a positive outlook, strong interpersonal skills, and should be an overall asset to the CDS program.

The recipient must be a full-time student accepted to the EIU Graduate School with a declared major in Communication Disorders and Sciences. The recipient must carry a minimum GPA of 3.0. The recipient must clearly demonstrate a spirit of collegiality, a strong work ethic, a passion for the Communication Disorders profession, and contribute to the CDS department or campus at large in terms of activity, service, or involvement in a student organization.
