Danny Harvey writes custom scripts and programs to support instructional, research and administrative activities, designs Web applications and consults course designers on the use of technology to achieve course objectives. He has his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in materials engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Science in technology from EIU. He uses HTML, Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language (SMIL), Active Server Pages (ASP), PHP, JavaScript, C, XML and databases in designing Web resources.
His research interests include Web-based data visualization and animation using Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) and the accessibility of Web pages and multimedia. His recent projects include the development of a bookmarked and searchable media library, a Web-based tool for creating and deploying online surveys and retrieving data (surveyCentral,) and automated captioning for Web media. He is available for consultation on programming issues related to instructional, research and administrative activities.
