'America's Music' - Opening Celebration

The series looks at six musical genres that are uniquely American: blues and gospel, jazz and swing, Broadway, country and bluegrass, rock 'n' roll, and mambo and hip hop.The Opening Celebration featuring films and song will begin at 7 p.m. Jan. 11 in the Doudna Fine Arts Center, Theatre. Performers will include the EIU Jazz Ensemble, Unity Gospel Choir, Scott Wattles and the Blue Suede Crew, Christine Robertson, EIU Percussion Ensemble, Flat Mountain and more. Admission is free.
