Professor Thomas Brown is the author and editor of numerous books having to do with the American Civil War and social history.  His most recent publications as editor are of Remixing the Civil War: Meditations on the Sesquicentennial (2011) and Reconstructions: New Perspectives on the Postbellum United States (2006), and a long term project is The Reconstruction of American Memory: Civic Monuments of the Civil War. Presented in conjunction with the exhibition The Civil War from the View of the Illinois Enlisted Man; sponsored by the EIU History Department and the Tarble Arts Center.
