Mi-Kyoung Lee: Lecture and Opening

Mi-Kyoung Lee is associate professor of Crafts and the head of Fibers at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia.

“The consistent process of art making is ritual ceremony,' says Lee. 'My entire body and soul purely united. I allow my intellect and body to follow the rhythmic processes of repetition, understanding the relationships between tool and material, the material and process, and image and content.”

She holds a BFA from Dong-A University (Fibers; Busan, Korea), and MFAs from the University of the Arts (Book Arts/Printmaking) and from Cranbrook Academy of Art (Fibers; Bloomfield Hills, MI). Lee's art has been exhibited at the Reading Public Museum (PA), Cranbrook Museum of Art, SOFA (New York City and Chicago), Busan Metropolitan Museum (Korea), Espace des Tisserands n(Alsace, France), and many other venues.
