How the Nineteenth Century Shaped the Policies of Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was, in many ways, the quintessential Nineteenth Century Midwestern American. This course will examine four distinct important topics in American history during the Nineteenth Century and how Abraham Lincoln was affected by or involved in each of them. Topics include: Abraham Lincoln and the Midwest Frontier; Abraham Lincoln and the Mexican War; Abraham Lincoln and the Expansion of Slavery; and Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War.
