Film Screenings and Discussion: 'Latin Music USA' and 'From Mambo to Hip Hop'
'America's Music: A Film History of Our Popular Music from Blues to Bluegrass to Broadway' will be presented on the EIU campus from Jan. 11-April 6. The series looks at six musical genres that are uniquely American: blues and gospel, jazz and swing, Broadway, country and bluegrass, rock 'n' roll, and mambo and hip hop.
On Feb. 18, Jamie Ryan will introduce and lead disucssion on the films 'Latin Music USA: Episode One, Bridges' and 'From Mambo to Hip Hop: A South Bronx Tale.' For a complete schedule of 'America's Music' activities, visit www.library.eiu.edu.
