Film Screening and Discussion: 'Ken Burns' Jazz' and 'International Sweethearts of Rhythm'

'America's Music: A Film History of Our Popular Music from Blues to Bluegrass to Broadway' will be presented on the EIU campus from Jan. 11-April 6. The series looks at six musical genres that are uniquely American: blues and gospel, jazz and swing, Broadway, country and bluegrass, rock 'n' roll, and mambo and hip hop.

On Feb. 7, Dr. Newton Key will introduce and lead discussion on the films 'Ken Burns' Jazz: Episode 6, Swing, the Velocity of Celebration' and 'International Sweethearts of Rhythm.' For a complete schedule of 'America's Music' activities, visit www.library.eiu.edu.
