Film screening and discussion: 'Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues' and 'Say Amen, Somebody'
'America's Music: A Film History of Our Popular Music from Blues to Bluegrass to Broadway' will be presented on the EIU campus from Jan. 11-April 6. The series looks at six musical genres that are uniquely American: blues and gospel, jazz and swing, Broadway, country and bluegrass, rock 'n' roll, and mambo and hip hop.
On Jan. 31, Dr. Michael Loudon will introduce and lead disucssion on the films 'Martin Scorsese Presents the Blues: Episode 1, Feel Like Going Home' and 'Say Amen, Somebody.' For a complete schedule of 'America's Music' activities, visit www.library.eiu.edu.
