Aging in Prison: A Phenomenological Study of Long-Term Inmates in Indiana
Aging is a complex process regardless of the environment in which a person lives. However, prison can create extra challenges for inmates as they struggle to define and make sense of the aging process while incarcerated. This qualitative study examined how long-term inmates negotiate the concepts of time, chronological age, and purpose while in prison.
