Dr Wang earned his Ph.D. from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Accounting at EIU, teaching both undergraduate and MBA accounting classes. Dr Wang has published several articles in academic journals and conference proceedings. His applied research focuses on the role of financial accounting information in practical equity valuation. 

Dr Wang is a former Big 4 auditor (Deloitte) in New Zealand. Prior to joining EIU, he had also taught accounting courses at the Australian National University (ANU) and Victoria University of Wellington (VUW).

Dr. Wang is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He received the IMA Gold Medal for achieving the highest CMA exam scores in the world in 2012.
