What we do:
The Business Solutions Center is a public-private partnership that aims to spur economic growth by fostering an eight-county region of entrepreneurs that work together to assist and actualize business ideas.
The mission and focus of the Center serve to support IBHE‘s Public Agenda for College and Career Success in the areas of addressing workforce needs, and enhancing economic growth, by supporting and enhancing priorities for local sustainability, and for building connectedness to the community.
The BSC is an outreach arm for Eastern Illinois University, providing resources for our region and state for entrepreneurial business coaching and youth education. Through our youth education programs, such as: after-school clubs, Camp e3 and helping start high school entrepreneurship classes, we reach out to youths at an early age. Our “Do You Have What It Takes To Be An Entrepreneur” is a half-day program held at regional middle and high schools and it introduces our programs and EIU to students through a fun and engaging workshop. We partner with schools, libraries and economic development organizations to bring experiential entrepreneurship learning to our communities.
The BSC Entrepreneurial Coach is available for free and confidential business coaching for new or established businesses. We provide low cost “How to Start a Business” workshops in our region's communities; these are normally hosted by a banks, chambers of commerce or libraries that we have developed a relationship with.
