Substituting ACT Composite Score of 22 (SAT of 1030) for Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP)
The Illinois State Board of Education recently revised their policy on using ACT instead of the TAP. The requirement is now an ACT composite score of a 22 or higher on the ACT plus Writing (SAT combined score of 1030) with a combined English/Writing score of 19 or higher. Furthermore, the test must have been taken in the last 10 years to substitute for the Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP)/Basic Skills required for admission to teacher education.
