In August, the Sustainable Entrepreneurship through Education and Development (SEED) Center at Eastern Illinois University was established as the new interdisciplinary home for entrepreneurial education, research, and community partnerships. The SEED Center's primary focus is to foster collaboration among students, researchers, educators and practicing entrepreneurs to promote entrepreneurship through integrative learning.

The new SEED Center, into which the former Business Solutions Center (BSC) has been integrated, will continue to offer the outreach activities formerly offered by the BSC with a primary educational goal to create an understanding of starting and managing a profitable business, in addition to various outreach and community partnership activities.
