Alumni Association Mission Statement

The Eastern Illinois University Alumni Association supports and fosters the overall mission of the University. It strives to continuously inspire the loyalty and commitment of all alumni through communicating issues of significance involving the campus and alumni, providing member benefits, facilitating involvement through alumni activities, recognizing professional and volunteer accomplishments of alumni, and providing opportunities for alumni to contribute to advancing the interests and enhancing the cultural diversity of Eastern and its alumni.

Alumni Association Vision Statement

The Eastern Illinois University Alumni Association is committed to meeting the diverse needs of both alumni and the University. It accomplishes this through a proactive effort of interactive communication with the alumni and University staff, developing relationships between alumni and students, offering services to alumni which promote personal and professional growth, and celebrating the accomplishments of alumni while securing the resources to allow for the support of the mission. Through the collective effort of alumni, University staff, faculty, students, and the Board of Trustees, the value of the Eastern collegiate educational experience is continually enhanced.

Alumni Association History

The EIU Alumni Association was established in 1905 as a means of allowing continuing involvement of graduates and former students in the development of their University. The organization has a number of broad objectives, which it has traditionally pursued. These include: sponsoring special events for alumni; assisting with homecoming, reunions, and similar activities; facilitating communication between alumni and the University; assistance in maintaining alumni records; and helping with fundraising and other initiatives which contribute to the welfare of the University.

We are located in Brainard House at 1548 Fourth Street — across the street from Pemberton Hall and the Physical Sciences building.

Our regular office hours are 8 am to 4:30 pm During the summer, our hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Thursday, and 8 am to noon on Fridays.
