Step 2: Tuition and Fees
Illinois Residency Status
"A student needs to present a driver's license or a voter registration card for Illinois dated four months prior to the first day of class of the semester for which the student is requesting in-state residency."
Out-of-State Student. In-State Tuition
For our border-state friends, we offer special in-state rates. Students from Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Missouri and Wisconsin will be billed at the in-state rate.
Tuition Fee Chart
A Continuing Education fee of $44 per semester hour is a charge for off-campus courses. Waivers, including those available to civil service employees, may not be used for this fee.

A $25 late registration fee will be charged if you wait to register after the late registration day. The $25 late registration fee applies only to semester-long courses. It does not apply to weekend courses. Consult the Academic Calendar for this deadline.
***Student bills will be sent electronically through the students' EIU email account. Student bills will no longer be mailed through the postal service.
