Exhibitors,

Eastern Illinois University School of Continuing Education’s Academy of Lifetime Learning will be hosting the Midwest Lifelong Learning Conference April 10-12, 2013 at the Hilton Suites, Magnificent Mile, Chicago, IL. The conference invitation list includes program directors and staff from higher education and community based lifelong learning programs of 10 Midwestern states. Our welcome will be provided by the Director of the Department on Aging and our keynote is a nationally known leader in Lifelong Learning, Nancy Merz Nordstrom. With 75 million boomers and one turning 60 every 7 seconds for the next 20 years this is a growing market and this conference is in response to Lifelong Learning Program staff needs of resources and programming ideas.

We would like to invite you to attend the conference as an exhibitor. A large part of the success of this conference will be due to incorporating excellent exhibits and sessions. Resources are a very important part of directing and planning lifelong learning opportunities. We look forward to exploring the opportunities that you as exhibitors will bring to the conference. The exhibitor number and fees have been kept at a minimum so that we can encourage you to take a risk on this new conference for the Midwest and to encourage participants to visit every exhibitor during the conference. To encourage participants to visit the exhibits and make them more visible conference registration will be held in the exhibit area. Exhibits should be set up from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on April 10th. Space will be assigned by order of receipt of contracts and all exhibitors will be acknowledged on our webpage and in the conference packets.

We encourage you to attend and represent your company. Participants appreciate receiving company mementos such as rulers, scratch pads, etc. to take back to their programs. The evening of Thursday, April 11, 2013 we will hold a reception and raffle. We would encourage each vendor to provide a special prize that could be raffled at the reception to registrants who have visited all of the vendors. At a recent conference I personally won a Kindle Fire and a couple of bottles of wine in this manner and believe me I had further contact with both of those exhibitors and remember their names.

Another opportunity for exhibitors will be to sponsor an event at the conference. There are three such opportunities and they are: the reception, the Hancock Luncheon, or the Keynote speaker, each of these events can be sponsored for $2,500.00. Those companies who choose to sponsor an event this year will of course be acknowledged in print, media and electronic marketing as well as be given priority in subsequent years to offer sponsorship. We would appreciate your reservation by March 1, 2013, in order to reserve your exhibit space. Please call our office at (217) 581-5114 if you have any questions. We hope you will be able to attend!

Sincerely,

Marita Metzke, Project Coordinator
