Departmental Website


The Department of Music offers a Teacher Certification Option for those who wish to become teachers in public or private schools, and a Performance Option for those who wish to develop performance skills sufficient to enter the performance profession or for graduate level study in performance. Students in both options study music theory, music history and literature, music technology, conducting, solo and ensemble performance, and music pedagogy. Those in the Teacher Certification Option also complete a sequence of education courses.
