College of Arts & Humanities Curriculum Committee Minutes
Wednesday, March 19, 2008 - Paris Room

Members present:  Gene Harrison, ART, Tim Coombs, CMN, Stephen Swords, ENG, Vanesa Landrus, FLG,  Eunseong Kim, JOU, Marilyn Coles, MUS, Jean Wolski, THA, Associate Dean Jeffrey Lynch, ex-officio.

Guests:  Heather Carnahan, nominee, CAH Student Representative

Chair Wolski called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.

I. Minutes
The minutes of 3/04/08 were approved as written.

II. Proposals
08.02 New Course ProposalHIS 3801 U.S. Rural History

No History representative was present and the proposal was tabled until the next meeting.  Marilyn Coles moved to table the proposal and Gene Harrison seconded the motion.

Jean Wolski will relay comments made by Dean Lynch and Stephen Swords to the History department.

III. Executive Actions approved

      • Approval to repeat selected graduate level Art courses three times for credit.
      • Revisions to catalog copy, pre-requisites, semester offered, and repeat limits for selected undergraduate Art courses.
      • Dean Jeffrey Lynch will forward proposals to CAA and CGS.

IV. Pending Item
Nomination of Student representative
Heather Carnahan, Foreign Languages Spanish major, was approved by Jean Wolski to represent CAH in the Humanities area.

The meeting adjourned at 3:20 p.m.
