Chair Sterling called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.

I.  Minutes

On the motion of Simpson and second of Wolski, the minutes of 01/12/11 were approved unanimously.

II.  Executive Action

The executive action to delete pre-requisites for CMN/HST 4910 has been forwarded to Janet Fopay for CAA approval.

III.  Items added to the agenda

On the motion of Swords and second of Wolski, the following items were added to the agenda for the next meeting:

• 10.17 Proposed Revision to catalog copy for Departmental Honors in History

• 10.18 New course proposal HIS 3120, Ancient Egypt

• 10.19 New course proposal HIS 3130, Iraq and the Ancient Near East

• 10.20 Revised course proposal CMN 3260, Class in U.S. Culture

• 10.21 Revised course proposal CMN 3903, Comm Gender/Body

• 10.22 Proposed Revision to CMN Rhetoric and Public Advocacy Option

• 10.23 Proposed Revision to English Graduate Studies Curriculum

• 10.24 New course proposal MUS 2071 Audio and Recording Techniques

• 10.25 Proposed Revision to MUS Performance Option and Concentrations

IV.  Agenda Items acted upon

• 10.13 New course proposal FILM 4275 Film Studies Internship

Dr. Murray presented the proposal which will now be cross-listed with CMN.  Motion made (Wolski) and seconded (Swords) to approve.  Item approved unanimously (9-0)

• 10.14 New course proposal MDVL 2000G, Intro to Medieval Studies

Dr. Raybin presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Swords) and seconded (Coromina) to approve.  Item approved unanimously (9-0)

After discussion, the following agenda items were tabled for future consideration.

• 10.15 New course proposal HIC 2000G, Introduction to the Humanities

• 10.16 Revised course proposal EIU 4100G, Culture Matters.
