Chair Sterling called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m.

I.  Minutes

On the motion of Hoerschelmann and second of Kammerling, the minutes of 11/17/10 were approved by acclamation.

II. Items added to the agenda

On the motion of Wolski and second of Coromina, the following items were added to the agenda for the next meeting:

10.12 Proposed Graduate Certificate in the Teaching of Writing

10.13 New course proposal FILM 4275 Film Studies Internship

 III. Agenda Items acted upon

•  09.27 New course proposal AFR 4300 Senior Seminar

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Swords) and seconded (Wolski) to approve.  Item approved unanimously (8-0)

•  09.19 New course proposal AFR 2400 Black Women in the Diaspora

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Swords) and seconded (Coromina) to approve.  Item approved unanimously (8-0)

• 09.20 New course proposal AFR 2500 Intro to Research Methods

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Swords) and seconded (Sterling) to approve.  Item approved (7-1-0)

• 09.28 Proposed revisions to AFR programs

Dr. Ochwa-Echel presented the proposal and addressed questions from the committee.  Motion made (Swords) and seconded (Coromina) to approve.  Item approved unanimously (8-0)
